"Serial No. 33289b, made in 1870, .44RF,27" round barrel. Barrel and magazine tube are smooth plum patina with light oxidation spots visible. Receiver is a pleasant golden patina; lower tang is marked “LSM-27/C/2". Stock is very good with light nicks dings and scratches visible. There is a split running along the left side of the wrist. Action is smooth and functions correctly. This musket would have been issued to freed African American during the Reconstruction period under the command of former Confederate General Longstreet. A rare example of Post Civil War history!!
