Antique High Condition 1st Model Winchester 1873 Rifle w/ Unique Magazine Cut Off Switch
This High Condtion Winchester Model 1873 Rifle was manufactured in 1879, somewhere down the road, it had a unique period alteration done of a Magazine Cut off Switch to make it a single shot. The lever can be turned either way to have it work as desinged or as a single shot. The condition on this example is fantastic showing approximately 80% original blue on the frame. The barrel shows approximately 75-80% blue drifting. The hammer shows strong traces of the color case hardened finish while the lever shows muted colors. The buttstock and forearm are exceptional and show most of the original factory finish. The butt plate drifitng to a silver patina. Mechanically the action functions well, although the lever is a tad bit loose. Overall assesment shows a fantastic early 1st Model 1873 with a respectable amount of condition with a unique and appealing likely one-of-a kind feature. Buyer to pay actual shipping and insurance.
