VERY RARE CONFIGURATION ANTIQUE SERIAL NUMBER 1894 .38-55 CALIBER RIFLE WITH HALF OCTAGON BARREL AND FULL MAGAZINE, #89XXX. The half octagon barrel with full magazine was actually TWO special order features because when the half oct. barrel was ordered it came standard with a half magazine. The full magazine had to be requested as special for this type barrel and as such they are rarely encountered. This is a fine example with fine deep barrel and mag blue showing only minor ageing. The receiver blue has aged to a gray/brown with good blue on the loading gate and in the most protected areas. Excellent butt stock and forearm with tight wood to metal fit. Fitted with a full buckhorn rear sight with small Lyman blade/bead front sight. Excellent markings, mech. and bright excellent bore! A scarce antique 1894 in a great caliber.
