In this listing we are offering a Winchester 1866 Musket. The rifle is one of 15,000 produced in this configuation, produced in 1870. The rifle features a 27 inch barrel with the bayonet lug and chambered in 44 Rimfire.
The brass-frame Model 1866 was Winchester's first lever-action firearm to be made in a musket model. The barrel, magazine, and fore-end of these muskets were several inches longer than those of the Model 1866 Rifle and Carbine. The Model 1866 was manufactured from 1866-1898. This rifle is mechanially perfect with a excellent bore with strong rifling. The rifle is in 100% original condition. It retains 70% of its overall finish, wood and metal. The rifle is marked with a Crown over RV (Spanish Contract). Please feel free to ask any questions. We do charge 3% for credit cards. No FFL will be required since this is an antique.
