Winchester Model 1873 .38-40. Made in 1886, serial 215820 has a 24-inch octagon barrel (.765-inch muzzle diameter, blade front sight). Features include a shotgun butt plate. No factory letter is present. DIMENSIONS: Weight is 8.4 pounds and the length-of-pull is 13.1 inches. CONDITION: The bore is good, with frosting and light roughness, lightly softened rifling and light browning. Hammer notches and trigger pull are positive. Metal finish has thinned, browned and has speckled light roughness over the barrel. Wood is solid with a chip at forearm right front. The price is firm and layaway is available. $3,500 plus shipping.
