Standard configuration Winchester 1876 2nd Model Lever Action Rifle with thumbprint dust cover over screwed-on rail, SN: 8195, caliber .45-75 WCF based on unmarked barrel/carrier block, with 27" octagonal barrel, full magazine tube, drift adjustable front blade sight and battle/ladder rear sight, the ladder graduated from 2-10. Top of barrel with two line Winchester address / patent information, “Model 1876” on top tang, the SN "8195" on lower tang, just below the lever lock. Plain walnut forend and straight grip walnut buttstock with smooth crescent buttplate having sliding trapdoor. ANTIQUE!!!
Condition:
G-VG original finish with moderate handling/use wear in usual locations along with thinning and patches of patina, the magazine tube having largely browned. Receiver with about 60% original blue, the balance faded/toned. Muted/faded color case hardening of hammer, lever, and buttplate. Near EXC forend with slight darkening and a rare superficial bruise; the buttstock darker with scattered scratches and dings but no cracks. Bright bore with sharp rifling, minimal etching. Correct manual mechanics.
