WINCHESTER EARLY 1866 SPORTING RIFLE CONVERTED TO 44 CF
Description:
Light barrel markings. The barrel and mag tube have turned mostly a plum/brown color. Correct period front sight as well as the sporting buckhorn rear sight. Wood has some splits, cracks and minor repairs but basically sound. Correct brass buttplate. The original eyes and slings are missing and there has been a newer style sling eyes put on. Brass receiver has turned a pale yellow with some signs of abuse, scratches and replaced screws. For some reason there is a notch cut out of the front of the receiver to change the elevator. The bottom of the receiver shows a considerable amount of wear. This gun has seen it all but still isn't too bad looking.
