Winchester Model 1866 SRC 44RF. High condition. Antique!
Description:
One of the nicest Winchester Model 1866 Saddle Ring Carbines that I have encountered.
S/N 157110 made in 1882.
20" barrel. 44 rimfire caliber.
Excellent original metal and wood finishes throughout.
The untreated brass receiver retains most of its natural light patina and rich color, along with some handling wear on underside at forearm transition and on R rear of receiver next to the hammer.
Brass carbine buttplate with a currently vacant trap door storage compartment.
Factory issued original sights.
All mechanical functions are crisp and proper and the bore is minty.
Comes with a Cody research letter confirming the configuration and date of manufacture.
Given its age and the notable scarcity of clean 1866 SRCs out there, this is an outstanding example that would be quite difficult to improve upon.
Please add $100 for expedited and fully insured shipping from Alaska in a custom cut, foam lined box.
SAFETY NOTICE: Buyer is solely responsible for determining that a used gun is safe to shoot. The firearms offered by Frontier Guns have not been test fired but have been given a visual inspection only for the purpose of sale. It is a requirement that every used firearm be inspected by a qualified gunsmith before loading or firing. By purchasing, the buyer agrees to hold seller harmless against damages, injury, or death caused by defective merchandise or improper use.
