WINCHESTER MODEL 1873 .44-40 RIFLE, 1887 MFG
Description:
Winchester model 1873 rifle, .44-40 WCF. Serial #245550B, 1887 manufacture. Round barrel, very good rifled bore. Very sharp, barrel address. Top of barrel at breech, as well as brass block both stamped 44 W.C.F. Brass block with worn 44 CAL. marking. Metal overall is a pleasing age mottled pewter-grey patina, with brown mixing in. Mechanics are very good. Original sights. Wood is very good, a few age bumps and dings, slight age handling wear, one 2.5" surface crack on the right running back from the back of the tang. Correct crescent-style buttplate with compartment, original dust cover. .100% correct and original 73 Winchester rifle in desirable .44-40.
