Excellent 1890 Gallery gun
Description:
Chambered in .22 Short, these were often referred to as "Gallery guns", because they were commonly used in the shooting galleries at amusement parks and such. In this service, they were used hard, put up wet, and often not cleaned very well. This example is very nice. It carries a Lyman peep sight on the top tang. It has a mint, bright bore and has likely not been shot in many, many years. Serial numbers for these guns are a little sketchy, but it looks like this one was built in 1907. All markings are clear and crisp. Blue is gorgeous, with different tones in different places on the gun, some wear on the bottom tang from being carried. We have different opinions over here as to whether or not the sideplates have been reblued. Wood stock and fore end are in excellent condition, just a few scuffs but no cracks or damage otherwise. Buttstock has been replaced at some point (but is very, very nice) and the buttplate is from an Ithaca. Check the pics for yourself and see what you think! In order to protect your investment, all long guns over $500 must be shipped in a hard case. Minimum shipping at this level is $55 and includes the hard case. Shipping cost could increase depending on value or weight of the firearm. For long guns less than $500, we still recommend the purchase of a hard case, again to protect your investment. These numbers are for shipping to the lower 48. There is also a 3% surcharge for customers using a credit card on internet sales. Thank you!
