#3912 Winchester Model 1885 High Wall 40-82 Rifle, 30” #2 Barrel
This is a High Wall Model 1885 with a 30” octagon #2 barrel, 40-82-caliber rifle. The mechanical function is very good, crisp and tight. The bore is very good, bright and shiny with strong rifling and a tiny but of very fine corrosion. It retains 50% barrel blue. The serial number is 43938 and was made in 1889. The rear sight is not the original one but a decent replacement. Most of these rifles chambered in 40-82 have terrible bores or have been changed to 45 caliber. This one would be a very good shooter. The action is strong and the bore is fine.
