Description: W4004 WINCHESTER MODEL 1885 HIGH WALL RIFLE CHAMBERED IN 32-40; 30 inch No. 3 octagon barrel shows 80% blue. Excellent bore is bright and shiny with strong rifling. Sights include a Wind Gauge Target/Globe front, a filler blank in the rear barrel seat and Mid-Range Vernier Peep on the tang at the rear. Receiver, hammer and lever show 70% case colors. Walnut stocks are solid with a just a few light handling marks. Features a rifle butt. Appears to have a coat of clear lacquer added to the receiver and perhaps a coat of linseed oil to the stocks. Manufactured in 1894. Comes with research form confirming this original configuration right down to the sights.
