Pre War Pre 64 Winchester Model 70 300 Magnum (H&H) Excellent and Scarce!
Description:
***SOLD*** Very difficult to find early Pre War 300 Magnum (300 H&H) in excellent condition with an undrilled rear receiver bridge! S/N 10880 with faintly scribed but clearly matching bolt made way back in in 1937. The overall condition is closer to outstanding when you consider its 85 years of circulation and 100% originality. I am rating this rifle about 95% with some light wear and scattered handling marks on the wood. The bore is like new and the mechanical functions are perfect and butter smooth in typical Pre War fashion. Beautiful polished carbonum blued receiver seen only on the earliest rifles. 26" rust blued barrel. Rear sight is a factory inletted and installed Lyman 48 WJS with all matching component numbers. There has never been a 22g rear sight installed on this rifle as evidenced by the lack of an elevator track on top of the barrel. The rear sight dovetail is correctly filled with a Lyman 12S plug. Not perfect, but very nice and completely unmolested in a tough to find caliber. Expedited and fully insured shipping from Alaska to your FFL in a custom cut foam lined box only $75.
