SELDOM SEEN MODEL 54 20" CARBINE, .30-06 CALIBER, #39XXX, MADE IN 1933
Description: SELDOM SEEN MODEL 54 20" CARBINE, .30-06 CALIBER, #39XXX, MADE IN THE WORST AND MOST DIFFICULT YEAR OF THE GREAT DEPRESSION 1933. Compared to standard rifles, carbines were made in much fewer numbers. This is an excellent example That has a two leaf folding sight on the barrel mated with a correct Redfield blade/bead front sight and fully adjustable Redfield receiver sight. Excellent barrel and receiver blue with the forward portion of the steel floor plate thinned to gray as this is the balance point when carried. Excellent stock with original steel butt plate. Exc. action with exc. bore. Only the sling swivel studs appear added- I'd replace them with more period correct hook-eye swivel studs. A rare Pre-Model 70 bolt action from the difficult days of the Great Depression. This is a rare variation that isn't seen often especially in this condition.
