This is a very unique model 70 put together by one of the last gunsmiths in the company custom shop. He wanted to build a unique gun for a hunt he was going on. The Marlin .450 caliber intrigued him with its ballistics. He had access to the best receivers, barells, stocks and associated hardware. The Marlin .450 was not a part of the Winchester catalog so he had the barell makers ream the chamber to his specifications. The action is super slick and encased in a gorgeous piece of circasion walnut with a maple forearm cap. The bolt and floor plate are beautifully turned and complimented with a gold inlaid floorplate with the Winchester horsemen. There are only two known examples of this firearm in existence that were manufactured at the New Haven, CT factory. The second rifle was built for the gunsmith's friend.
