Interesting Winchester Model 1894 30 WCF Short Rifle with Cody Info Sheet
Description: DESCRIPTION: Winchester Model 1894 30 WCF lever action rifle with special order 24" full octagon barrel, 2" shorter than standard and interesting in that most of these short rifles had 20" or 22" barrels. Seldom was a rifle ordered with a barrel only 2" shorter than standard. Also interesting in that it does not have any other special order options - the remainder of the features are the standard full magazine, straight grip uncheckered walnut stocks and crescent rifle butt. Complete with 3-leaf express rear sight and Marble's No. 5 front sight with ivory bead. Cody info sheet shows the serial number 147469 was applied on May 26, 1902, confirming the features, warehoused on July 25, 1902 and shipped on July 31, 1902 to order number 147798. Email sheet will be supplied with the rifle. CONDITION: Overall NRA Antique Very Good. Barrel and mag tube exhibit 85% bright original thinning blue with some scratches and minor spots of surface oxidation that should clean off. Receiver has turned a light patina and the case colors on the hammer, lever and butt plate have silvered. Stocks are sound with no splits or cracks, no extra holes, never sanded or refinished, still tight and evenly matched to the metal, exhibiting normal light surface dings and scratches from use. Bore is very good with plenty of shine and well-defined rifling with just a hint of frost and a hint of darkness in the grooves. Action is tight and crisp. Half cock safety functions as it should. Feeds and fires as designed. Nice Winchester oddity to take to the woods and range as well as a nice addition to your collection. TERMS: No international sales. Must ship to FFL or C&R license holder. Payment by bank check, money order, personal check, or all major credit cards with 3% convenience fee. 3 day non-firing inspection. Buyer pays return shipping. Layaway available with 25% down and equal payments over 90 days. Offers considered. Thanks for looking. Interested in buying single pieces and collections of old firearms, especially Winchester, Colt, S&W, Marlin, Savage and Remington. 315.251.4799 with questions or concerns SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes Manufacturer: Winchester Model: 1894 Serial Number: 147469 Caliber Info: 30 WCF Condition: Very Metal Condition: Very Good Wood Condition: Very good Bore Condition: Very good Barrels: 24" Octagon Barrel Type: Nickel Steel Action: Lever Triggers: Standard/plain Stock: Walnut Manufacture Date: 1902 Item Location: New York |
