VERY FINE CONDITION 1892 SADDLE RING CARBINE, .32-20, #983XXX, MADE 1929.
Description: VERY FINE CONDITION 1892 SADDLE RING CARBINE, .32-20, #983XXX, MADE 1929. The .32-20 is a surprisingly difficult caliber to find in a carbine as most seem to be .25-20 or the larger calibers. This example was made the year of the great stock market crash of 1929. It retains about all the bright barrel and magazine blue. Usually Winchesters made during this time have flaked to gray receivers as Winchester changed the case hardening/blueing process at this time. This one retains most of the blue with only some thinning. Exc. blue on the bolt and loading gate, even the upper tang shows fine deep blue. Exc. correct late style barrel markings. Retains the correct ladder carbine sight with slide intact along with the saddle ring. Exc. stock and forend with tight wood to metal fit. Exc. screw heads. Tight action with solid half-cock on the hammer and bright sharp bore. One of the last of the '92 saddle ring carbines.
