Description: #982153, Winchester Model 1892 Saddle Ring Carbine in 25-20 W.C.F. Made in 1927 with a Bore Like New, Original Piece that was never refinished from Butt to Muzzle, 20" Round barrel, Correct Series 44 adjustable carbine rear sight with graduations from 0 to 20, Original front sight that is stamped "Westsite" with a bronze front bead, Full length magazine that should 11 cartridges, Steel carbine style buttplate, 13" LOP, 6 lbs. 3 oz., It retains 85% original barrel blue, The magazine tube at 90%, The original receiver blue at 65%, The lever has 90% blue, The top tang has 97% blue The original wood finish remains at 88-90%, All the screws remain at 95% including the butt, The bore is like new and looks like it did 96 years ago. This is a flat-out nice looking 92 in very solid original and mechanical condition. The bolt face and inside of the receiver look as good as the outside. Not many 1892's from this era remain as nice as this piece with a bore that looks like day one. All that said, Mr. Edward E. Mark must have owned this piece for awhile as he very lightly scratched his name on the right side of the receiver just behind the loading gate. 9 out of 10 people you hand this gun to don't see it but it is there.
