Winchester model 1892 25-20 from 1903
Description:
This is a decent Model 1892 lever action rifle in 25-20 WCF. This is a full 24" octagon rifle that carries around 80% original blue on the barrel and mag. tube, with 40-50% on the receiver. There are a couple of what appear to be blood sthai rust marks on the barrel and mag. tube (pictured) in photos 7 and 8.. The bore is typical dark with pretty good rifling present. The stocks are decent, with numerous small hunting nicks, and fit proud to the metal, which is an indication that they have not been sanded down. This rifle was built before Winchester stamped them with proof marks which began in 1904. The sights are original except it appears that someone prefered a flat top to a buckhorn rear sight, and ground it down, which was not uncommon in the day. All in all a nice shootable model 1892 in a desirable caliber.
