24 inch octagon barrel chambered in 25-20 WCF caliber with a dark fair bore that shows light to moderate pitting. Original sights include a German silver blade front and a typical sporting rear. Barrel and full length magazine tube are a gray/brown patina with traces of original blue in the protected areas. Receiver has good traces of original finish in the protected areas and some spotting with balance turning a gray/brown patina especially at the carry point. Hammer and lever are about the same color as the receiver. Mechanically has a smooth functioning action. Walnut stocks show some handling and usage mars with a couple of stress lines coming of the upper tang and some shrinkage at the rifle style buttblate. This Winchester rifle was made in 1902.
