Winchester Model 1894 SRC with Toronto Police Markings
Description:
Serial #697767, .30 WCF (.30-30), 20" barrel with a fine, bright bore that has some mild freckling within the grooves along its length.
This is a 1913-made carbine that has retained 30-40% of the original blue, mostly along the protected areas of the barrel and magazine tube, and the balance worn to dark, pewter gray with thin freckling throughout.
Some further areas of original blue remain on the rear of the frame with a semi-circular swath of brightness from the saddle ring on the left side.
The walnut forend and buttstock have added varnish over numerous small handling marks and blemishes scattered throughout.
A "(CI)TY OF TORONTO" police marking is stamped into the wood on the left side of the buttstock near the steel buttplate.
This is a great, pre-WW1 ‘94 SRC, in very good-fine condition, and with a rare Canadian police marking.
