Collector quality Winchester Model 55 lever action rifle in 32 WS (Winchester Special) that retains its high condition and the rare solid frame feature.
S/N 1080252 made in 1930.
The Model 55 was the only Winchester rifle produced where it is far more common to find them in a takedown configuration than in this solid frame version.
The overall condition of this rifle is outstanding, retaining much of its original finish. There are some scattered light handling marks /scratches on the metal, along with typical wear of high edges and underside balance point.
These areas have faded to a clean silver gray with no ugly undertones or notable oxidation.
The wood set is in excellent condition with bright finish and minimal marks.
The 24" barrel has a brilliant mirror bore with distinct rifling throughout. Likewise, the mechanical functions are all smooth, crisp, and working properly.
This is a very fine and difficult to find rifle!
