Description: This is a Winchester Model 1892, ( changed to 92 shortly before ) - made in 1920 according to the Winchester Collectors assn. This is a sporting rifle with a 24" round barrel, 1/2 ( or button magazine ) and a crescent butt. It is chambered for the 38 W.C.F. ( 38-40 ), with a fantastic, bright shiny bore - near mint. This rifle, while being 105 years old, remains in high original condition. It has been used, but not abused. the wood is solid, unsanded, with some original finish. The wood does show scattered impressions, scratches, minor dings and wear, etc. The metal is excellent overall - especially the receiver - not many Winchesters from this era retain this much blueing. The barrel also shows a high percentage of original blue with scattered light oxidation. minor freckling and slight high edge wear. The rear sight is a factory flat top; the sight elevator and front sight both have patent dates. All stampings, proofs, lettering and barrel legend are crisp. The mechanical function is excellent. ***** Overall a great little rifle with honest use and wear, but still far above average. ***** Must ship to a FFL, C&R ok. Please know your local laws. Shipping includes full insurance. * Certified funds/check preferred - however I can accept a c.card with a .03% fee. ***** Thanks
