Has a Type 3 bayonet lug barrel band, flip safety, ""J A O"" marked stamped adjustable rear sight assembly, Type C ""straight"" hammer, round bolt, Inland trigger group, 4-rivet handguard & oval cut ""low wood"" buttstock. The gun went through an arsenal rebuild program after World War II, so all metal parts are in excellent but refinished condition. Wood is in excellent condition as well. Comes with an Olive Drab shade 3 sling, oiler, an Olive Drab shade 3 buttstock magazine pouch & three USGI 15-round magazines. Gun also comes with original shipping box from Red River Army Depot from when it was purchased through the Department of Civilian Marksmanship (predecessor to the Civilian Marksmanship Program) in 1964. This is a time capsule from back when rebuild M1 Carbines could be purchased directly from the U.S. government.
