"Serial No. 1309070, manufactured circa May 1943, chambered in .30-06 with a 24" round barrel bearing the correct Winchester proof mark. Bolt is marked “D28287-1-W.R.A.", and the receiver is marked “D28291-2 / LEAD / 3-69," denoting its post-war arsenal rebuild at the Letterkenny Army Depot—one of the final depots to perform formal M1 Garand upgrades. The operating rod is cut and marked “*5382-W.R.A.", consistent with Winchester production. Trigger housing and internal components are all correctly marked “W.R.A." The stock shows evidence of arsenal refurbishment and retains a faint “W.R.A./G.H.D." cartouche alongside the Ordnance wheel, appropriate for wartime Winchester rifles. Action is smooth and functions correctly. Rifle includes a period-correct leather sling.
