Offered here is a Winchester-produced U.S. Rifle, Caliber .30, M1 built around receiver serial number 1377644, an authentic Winchester receiver from the desirable 1.37-million duplicate serial number production block manufactured during 1943. While no longer in its original wartime configuration, this rifle retains strong Winchester identity with multiple W.R.A.-marked components and represents the type of honest U.S. military rebuild that collectors and shooters alike appreciate.

The rifle is fitted with a Springfield Armory barrel marked SA F6535448 12-54, identifying it as a December 1954 replacement installed during post-war military service. The muzzle and throat both gauge an excellent 2+, indicating a barrel with substantial service life remaining and excellent shootability. Combined with the robust long-stroke gas operating system, eight-round en-bloc clip feeding system, and post-war T105 rear sight, this Garand is ready for the range while remaining an authentic U.S. service rifle.

The parts profile retains desirable Winchester heritage with a D28287-1 W.R.A. bolt and Winchester-marked trigger housing, while the operating rod is the later Springfield Armory 6535382 SA component commonly encountered on arsenal rebuilds. The rifle is fitted with a handsome CMP walnut replacement stock bearing the Civilian Marksmanship Program cartouche along with a crisp circled P firing proof. This combination accurately reflects a quality U.S. Government rebuild that later passed through the CMP program using genuine USGI components.

Officially adopted in 1936, John C. Garand's revolutionary semi-automatic rifle gave American troops a decisive advantage over enemy forces still armed primarily with bolt-action rifles. Winchester Repeating Arms was one of only two manufacturers to produce M1 Garands during World War II, making Winchester receivers especially desirable among collectors today. Following the war, rifles like this one were rebuilt with updated components to continue serving through the Korean War and the Cold War, extending the life of America's greatest battle implement. As General George S. Patton famously stated, the M1 Garand was "the greatest battle implement ever devised."

Combining a wartime Winchester receiver, Winchester bolt and trigger housing, an outstanding 2+/2+ Springfield barrel, and a CMP replacement stock, this Garand offers exactly what many collectors seek: an authentic U.S. military rebuild with excellent mechanical condition and real historical character. It is an honest, attractive example that is equally at home in a serious military collection or on the firing line, backed by the quality and confidence expected from National Armory.
