Winchester, 1895 Russian Musket
Description:
SOLD, this rifle has sold and awaiting payment , Listing a hard to come by 1895 Winchester Russian Musket, 294k were built for the Russian Empire in 1915-1917 in the 7.62x54 rimmed cartridge , only musket fitted with a charger bar to accomadate the use of the same stripper-clip used in the Mosin -Nagant. They put 3 million men on the ground during WWI but 1/3 lacked a rifle so they needed the good old USA to help them out. she has the 28" barrel slightly curved butt plate with sliding gate for cleaning rods, etc , ( empty ) the 1898 Krag style folding ladder sight. Rear sling swivel is missing but front two are there. Seems all original finish on metal and wood. Has the one Russian stamp that I can see which leads me to believe it was accepted for shipment then returned or never went. I read that some were sold off by the Russian gov't after WWI . These musket's were equipped with a 16" bayonet. I've shot this rifle, levers and shoots fine, the 30 caliber 7.62 round sends a 210 grain bullet close to 3,000 fps. That's moving, put's it in the company of the 30/06 Springfield cartridge. Serial number 371517 dates it to 1916, maybe towards the end of the run , The 95's in the other 8 calibers were made to around 1932. So I've read.any questions that I might be able to help you with or dicker on price, call or text me , I ship to C&R or FFL, USPS priority insured with tracking number. Cashiers check or postal money orders., thanks 920-590-3400 I'm a private collector selling off sold to Thomas Yip , San diago USMC, $4550.
