20 inch carbine configuration with a good bore that has shine and visible rifling. "1873" marked rear sight and typical carbine front sight. Gun retains about 60% nickel on the receiver, barrel, mag tube and buttplate. Nice smooth action. Beautiful nicely figured walnut that retains most original varnish with a carbine butt. Special order examples like this 1866 make a desirable standout piece in any collection. Comes with a Cody Museum Factory Letter stating the Nickel finish as well as being manufactured in 1883..
