WINCHESTER 1866 FOURTH MODEL RIFLE
Description: Original sights include buckhorn rear sight as well as a Lyman tang sight. Fine bore. Wood is in good condition with a light coat of varnish added. Not sanded or undersized. Rifle buttplate and steel forend cap. Receiver has a pale yellow patina. These were made from a SRC frame at the factory by plugging the saddle ring hole. They opted to do this when they ran out of rifle frames. Quite typical to see this in the 160k serial range. Barrel and mag are a pleasing plum color. A sharp clean little gun.
