Winchester Model 1866 44 RF. Antique w/ Henry marked Barrel.
Description:
The nicest Henry marked Winchester 1866 44 RF rifle that I have encountered.
S/N 20807 made in 1869.
24" Octagon barrel with full length mag tube, factory swivels, and a crescent trapdoor buttplate housing the original 4 piece set of cleaning rods.
The condition of the original finishes is period outstanding, showing a nice even blue throughout with light surface oxidation. The "Henry" stamping on the barrel is clear and legible.
The brass receiver and buttplate are fantastic, showing a nice mellow patina without the usual scrubbing and/or discoloration.
The wood is in excellent shape showing only light handling and has never been sanded or refinished.
The bore is reflective with good rifling, but does show some light oxidation and some scattered pits midway. All mechanical functions are tight, crisp and functioning properly.
Original blade front sight and 900 yd. ladder rear.
An overall beautiful and remarkable example of this very rare 155 year old rifle.
Please add $100 for expedited and fully insured shipping from Alaska.
