**Sale Pending** WINCHESTER MODEL 1866 RIFLE
Description:
This gun has a 24 inch full octagon barrel with a full length mag tube. Has a fair bore. The gun features the early brass rifle style butt plate as well as brass forearm cap. Original wood shows a fair amount of use but still fits the gun quiet well. It looks like it has some repairs to the butt stock, but it is sound and solid. Fore arm appears to have some oil soaking as well as saddle wear at the bottom portion of the forearm. Good mechanical condition. The barrel has turned a brown patina color with some rounding to the corners. This one has a carbine style receiver, which you will see often times on these 1866 rifles when they ran out of one kind of receiver, they would just plug the holes of the carbine style receiver and then used them for the rifles. Would make a good wall decoration and it is reasonably priced. Not a bad looking old Winchester.
