Description: #4770 Winchester 1873 OBFMCB Second Model 44WCF, 64XXX range (1881 mfgr). Smooth tight action, VG-VG+ bore, being about a 7 on a scale of 10 and not having any major pitting or deficits of mention, just some dust, dirt, and minor light lead build-up. Markings are very good. The wood shows just LIGHT wear,s, bruises, and having no slivers on either the buttstock or forestock. The metal is a nice smooth thin plum brownish patina overall. Original dust cover, pinched blade front and rear buckhorn barrel sights. Overall, this is a very decent early 1880s Winchester, and except for one mentionable on the edge of the ejection port (see photos), it has an overall very handsome appearance. Overall this is a WELL above average ’73 that looks to be a 100% “virgin” and unmessed with piece of western history. About VG+ as described. $2395 SOLD Antique: Yes |
