Antique 1873 Winchester. 24" Round Barrel 32-20 Caliber With A Mint Bore. Excellent Like New Mechanics.. MFG In 1891..
Description: SOLD...Antique 1873 Winchester.. Here we have a decent ole 73.. It is in the 32-20 caliber with standard 24” round barrel.. I never buy these in 32-20 as the bores are always terrible and you can buy them all day long for $1000 or less.. BUT the bore in this gun is MINT.... Bright and shiny like new......and NO, it has not been relined.... In over 30 years, this is the only 73 in this caliber I have ever bought because the bore is mint..... S/N 389189 and made in 1891....The over all gun has traces of blue in protected areas. It has surface crud and some pitting.. The pitting is on the left side of the receiver very top of the side plate and below the dust cover... It has some very old chatter marks on the barrel in 4 places.. One by the caliber marking, one about an inch forward that has chipped the forearm on the right side {see photo}, one small spot by the rear sight and one at the forearm end cap.. These are not vise or tool marks.. Looks like it has bounced around in a chuck wagon or some sort of rack marks ??? Who knows.. It has some dents at the rear of the forearm on the bottom of the frame that has got into the forearm a little ???? It has the original front and rear sights. It has the original dust cover that is still tight and retracts perfectly with the lever throw. The mechanics are excellent and like new.. No side to side play in the lever. Both hammer notches are perfect and positive. Strong carrier and lever springs. It feeds, fires and ejects perfectly.. and it shoots like a new gun of course.. The wood is full and tight. The forearm has dents and dings from honest use and a small chip on the right side exactly where the chatter marks are that I mentioned earlier... The butt stock fits full and tight with some minor usage dings and scratches.. Nothing split or cracked anywhere. It does have some sort of circular design on both sides of the butt stock ??? The one I took a photo of on the left side looks like a target {see photo} and the one on the right side has a floral design in the circle ???? Don't have any idea what this is all about either.. They both are very light and actually I did not even see them until further close inspection later.. This ole 73 has it's work cloths on but has a screamer mint bore and like new mechanics, so if you have always wanted a 73 in this caliber but have searched the world over for one, even with a very good shootable bore with no luck, then friend, this is your lucky day !!!! Call 765-728-8049 with any questions or more photos.. I will be glad to show you anything you might want to see.. $50 insured shipping. Don't miss this one.. I get many calls on these Winchesters AFTER they have sold.. SOLD Antique: Yes |
