Antique Winchester Model 1873 Third Model Rifle .38-40 WCF - 1889 Mfg.
Description:
For sale we have an antique Winchester model 1873 lever action rifle in .38-40 WCF. This 1889 manufactured rifle features a walnut stock and forend with crescent steel buttplate, steel receiver with dust cover, serial number 319312, and 24" round barrel with blade front sight and semi-buckhorn rear sight. The rifle has little or no remaining finish on the metal, but has crisp factory markings. Wood has been lightly sanded, but remains in good condition with no cracks, chips, or splits. Bore is good for the vintage with relatively sharp rifling, and light scattered pitting throughout.
