SPECIAL ORDER NICKLE TRIM WINCHESTER MODEL 1873 RIFLE IN 38 WCF

Description:
Special order Second Model with 24 inch round barrel chambered in 38 WCF caliber with a very good bore that shows strong rifling and good shine. Barrel and full length magazine tube are a brown color with blue in the protected areas as well as scattered traces of blue. Sights include a Beaches combination front and typical sporting rear with a Lyman folding tang. Receiver, forend cap and buttplate have thinning and flaking nickle plated finish. Loading gate has traces of fire blue. Hammer and lever have traces of case colors. Has the improved dust cover which slides on a center rail on top of the frame which is held in place by two screws. A set trigger that needs adjustment. Crisp action. Walnut stock set have a little extra figure and minor handling marks with a rifle style buttplate. A decent looking example of a Winchester that was special ordered by a customer who knew what they wanted. Manufactured in 1881.
