SPECIAL ORDER WINCHESTER 1873 SECOND MODEL RIFLE IN 44 WCF

Description:
24 inch half octagon barrel chambered in 44 WCF caliber with a shiny bore with strong rifling and a few scattered pits. Sights include Beech"s combination front with a blank in the rear and a Long Range Vernier tang with a disc aperture. Barrel has some visible blue with the balance fading to brown. Special order half length button magazine. Receiver has some good blue at the back of the frame with some thinning that has turned a gray/brown at the carry point with edge wear. Faint traces of case colors on the hammer and lever. Some blue on the loading gate. Crisp functioning action. Walnut stock set has numerous dings and dents but no cracks. Rifle style buttplate with no cleaning rod in the trapdoor. Complete with factory letter verifying configuration and 1881 manufacture date and that it was part of a ten gun shipment.
