SPECIAL ORDER WINCHESTER MODEL 1873 RIFLE WITH 26 INCH BARREL IN 38 WCF

Description:
Special order Second Model features a 26 inch extra length round barrel chambered in 38 WCF caliber with a very good bore that shows strong rifling and good shine. Most thinning barrel blue remains on the barrel and full length magazine tube. Sights include a German silver blade front and typical sporting rear. Receiver also has good thinning blue with stronger blue in the protected areas. Loading gate retains some fire blue. Hammer and lever have traces of case colors. Has the improved dust cover which slides on a center rail on top of the frame which is held in place by two screws. Crisp action. Walnut forearm is in good condition with traces of original varnish. Buttstock has been lightly sanded and looks good with a rifle style buttplate. Manufactured in 1881.
