SPECIAL ORDER WINCHESTER SECOND MODEL 1873 RIFLE CHAMBERED IN 38 WCF

Description:
24 inch octagon barrel shows about 70% original finish with scattered light freckling. Near excellent bore is bright and fairly shiny with strong rifling. Original sporting front sight with nickel silver blade and short tang sporting rear. Half length tube magazine. Second model color case hardened receiver show’s about 30% original case colors with the balance a mottled brown grey patina. Plain walnut forearm with matching straight grip buttstock fitted with a smooth shotgun style buttplate. Shotgun style butts were standard on second model 1873’s chambered in 38 WCF from introduction until the 145,000 serial range. The stocks show a few handling marks but are solid and full fitting. Comes with a factory letter showing it was manufactured in 1881 as featured.
