A TRUE UNTOUCHED, ATTIC CONDITION, 1873 OCTAGON RIFLE IN .38-40 CALIBER, MADE 1890, THAT WAS OBVIOUSLY STORED AND UNTOUCHED FOR DECADES! Guns like these don't show up much any more, this one came from Hazelhurst, Georgia. Never cleaned or oiled and probably stored away dry when it was near new, this one retains nearly all the original blue that has dry freckling on it- not really dry rust, but you can feel it by running your finger over the metal- just needs oiling and careful cleaning to bring back the luster it had a hundred plus years ago! Exc. wood with tight wood to metal fit showing light handling only, mellow brass lifter engraved "38 CAL" and showing a few very shallow dings, original dust cover, original sights, nice screws BRIGHT EXCELLENT BORE, just needs careful cleaning by someone who knows how to do it! A great find!
