Description Winchester 1873 chambered in .38-40 Winchester with a tubular magazine and a 24 1/2" octagonal barrel. Manufactured in 1900 with serial number 547469. In the grey nicely patinated barrel, magazine tube, frame, loading gate, dust cover, hammer, lever, and trigger. Front tang mounted lever safety. Brass lifter. Smooth wood forend and straight stock with crescent metal butt plate. Adjustable rear semi buckhorn sight and fixed front blade. The Cody Firearms Museum has searched and confirmed the date of manufacture, caliber, barrel type, and trigger type. The top of the barrel is marked "38 W.C.F.". The tang is marked "MODEL 1873". A letter is not included in this lot but is available to order from Cody Firearms Museum. Must ship to a FFL or C&R holder. Condition: Overall Good with most of the finish being in the gray with respectable brown patina. Varying spots of normal metal oxidation throughout. The lettering is still visible. Some light scratches and dings on the wood. The action is smooth and functions as expected. The bore is dark and has spots of metal oxidation, but shows good visible rifling.
