Winchester 1873 ESTATE FIND! 38/40

Description:
From a local estate a nice '73 Winchester full length rifle in 38/40 cal. As shown the mag tube has a gentle bend in it and the butt stock has been repaired at some point. The butt stock is sound and orig to the gun. Forend has a minor crack, also shown. This gun has not been cleaned externally but I did clean the bore, it is mirror bright with strong lands and grooves throughout. Some VERY minor pitting can be seen in a few places, but overall a very desirable bore for this age group. 24 1/4" bbl with a very clean muzzle, DOM 1901 and this is also stamped on the rear sight elevator. Pleasing brown patina overall with no visable pitting or erosion, pictures tell the rest. This gun was owned by a local icon a Mr Vern Phillips, Champ boxer in the military then guide, outfitter and trapper here in the mountains of Wyoming. I'm sure it has many head of game to it's credit. I fired 8 rds of HSM 180 gr to check accuracy and function, 3 shot 1-1/2" 50 yds with 70+ eyes and open sights. $45.00 S&H to the FFL or C&R holder of your choice in the lower 48, others higher.
