Winchester 1873 Carbine chambered in 32 WCF with a 20 inch barrel with a bright bore and good grooves. This standard grade carbine is fairly scarce in this caliber it has a full magazine a barley-corn front sight and a 2000 yard carbine ladder rear sight. the left side of the receiver has a staple & ring. Mounted with nice figured uncheckered American walnut with straight stock and a carbine butt plate without trap. The is accompanied by a Cody Firearms Museum letter which identifies this carbine as found received in warehouse Nov 7 1916 and shipped May 10 1917 to Simmons Hardware Co in St. Louis MO. The fact that this letter shows a shipping destination is quite rare for a Winchester. Simmons Hardware was a major supplier to western dealers and folks moving west. The barrel & magazine tube retain about 99% original bluing with only very light sharp edge wear and some light chemical spotting on the left front flt the hammer retains about all of it brilliant case colors and the lever about all of its original bluing. The butt-plate retain 95-96% original bluing the wood is sound with a very few minor handling & storage nicks & scratches and overall retains virtually all of the original factory finish. Mechanics are crisp bright shiny bore with some minor roughness has been fired but very little. This is a fine example of an 1873 Carbine. This gun is in excellent condition and is covered by Dury's Lifetime Warranty.
