Winchester Model 1873 .32-20. A special order rifle made in 1892 and supported by a factory letter, serial 413382 has a 28-inch octagon barrel (.715-inch across the muzzle flats, rear sight dovetail positioned “as far back as possible”). Features include a set trigger, deluxe wood (checkered, pistol grip with ebony inlay, shotgun butt) and a color case action. DIMENSIONS: Weight is 8.8 pounds and the length-of-pull is 13.25 inches. CONDITION: The bore is dark and rough with softened but visible rifling. Set works properly. Hammer notches are solid. Lever opens with light resistance. A tang aperture has been added. Metal finishes have browned. Forearm wood has shrunk. Butt plate is a replacement. The price is firm and layaway is available. $10,000 plus shipping.
