Winchester 1873 SRC .44-40
Description: The Real Cowboy SADDLE RING CARBINE everyone is looking for! This one was manufactured in 1891. Serial number 391751B. Winchester 1873 SRC in the desirable .44WCF (.44-40) caliber. The metal is mostly smooth with no rust pits and is blue turned to plumb brown patina. The stock wood has a few dings, but still has its proud edge around the crescent rifle butt-plate . The stock is solid with no cracks or chips. The forearm does have a crack on the underside in front of the barrel band, but seem to be stable. Action is good and tight. Bore has good strong shoot-able rifling with general black powder pitting. The original sights are still in place as they should be. This would look good hanging from your saddle, or take it out and shoot it if you want to feel the thrill of yesteryear and the smell of GUNSMOKE..This is an antique and can be shipped directly to you. Adult signature required Gun that won the West. Carbines were utility guns that were carried, knocked around, rarely cleaned, and lived much of their working lives outdoors in the elements. Designed to be carried on horseback, they were especially popular with cowboys, lawmen, outlaws, and anyone who needed the firepower of a repeating rifle without the size or weight of a standard rifle. That said, by carbine standards, this is a pretty good one. Payment Cash, postal money order, cashiers check, personal & business checks. Can be ordered with a credit card or paypal at wxx.riverjunction, cxx just type in the number 4302 in the search box. SOLD Antique: Yes |
