Description:
24 inch octagon barrel chambered in 44 WCF caliber with a bore that has some shine and strong rifling with scattered roughness throughout. Sights include a German silver blade front and sporting rear. Barrel and full length magazine tube are a brown fading to gray. Receiver is also a thinning brown/gray patina. Hammer and trigger are a darker color while the lever is brown. About 30% blue on the loading gate. Crisp functioning action. Walnut stock set is in good condition with some added finish over the scratches and marks. A small crack on the right side of the forearm. Rifle style buttplate with no cleaning rod in the trapdoor. Not a bad looking example of a hard to find First Model Winchester rifle that was made in 1875.
