Winchester Model 1873 38 WCF Rifle Made 1884 Special Order
Description: Very good Winchester Model 1873 38 WCF caliber rifle, blued and walnut finish, with Winchester crescent steel butt plate having the trap door to hold cleaning rods, full mag tube, special order 28" barrel 4" longer than standard, straight grip, made in 1884, very desirable lever action Winchester. These New Haven made Winchesters, especially the antiques from the Cowboy Era, have become highly desirable collector guns. Stocks generally very good with typical nicks and scratches, most of the original varnish remaining, no splits, no cracks, no extra holes. Bluing is good, having turned a pleasing plum brown color. Bore is fair with light rifling and considerable frost; action is smooth/strong with a properly working half cock safety. Original front and rear open sights are intact, as is the original dust cover. No extra holes anywhere. Please have a gunsmith check it over before firing. Please note that Daphne, my photogenic female yellow lab found in some of the pictures, is not included with the rifle.
