WINCHESTER MODEL 1873 RIFLE IN 44 WCF

Description:
24 inch round barrel rifle chambered in 44 WCF caliber with a good shiny bore. Original sights include a German silver blade front and sporting rear with an added Lyman folding tang. Most barrel blue remains with some wear at the muzzle. Full length magazine tube retains about 50% blue with the balance thinning to brown. Receiver has strong blue in the protected areas with some thinning and fading to a plum/brown. Loading gate has good nitre blue. Hammer and lever have dark traces of case colors. There are a few buggered screws. The dust cover is tight. Walnut stocks are in good condition with some minor handling mars and still proud to the metal. Crescent buttplate. Nice functioning action. Not a bad looking Winchester from 1898.
