Winchester Model 1873 Short Rifle 32 WCF w/British Proofs
Description: You are viewing one used but in very good condition Winchester Model 1873 rifle in caliber 32 WCF (32-20). Configuration is 20" round barrel, full magazine, and shotgun butt with smooth steel buttplate - will letter this way, see last picture. Standard sights include the series 21 front sight and the very early short semi-buckhorn rear sight typically found on the First and Second models (being a factory short rifle, a shorter rear sight was needed for clearance from the receiver, so the old style was installed). Rifle spent some time overseas as it has British proofs on the receiver and barrel. Stocks are sound with no splits or cracks, never sanded or refinished, still proud and tight, retain most of the original varnish, do show normal usage dings, scratches, and nicks as expected from a 132-year-old firearm. Action still very tight and crisp, as is the dust cover tension, no looseness, no rattle. Brass carrier shows that nice uncleaned mustard color you want on a rifle of this vintage. Hammer and lever show hints of case colors in the protected areas but are mainly patina. Receiver has toned to a deep plum with traces of original bright blue in the protected areas. Loading gate shows about 20% original fire blue. No wobble to mag tube at band, still tight. Hammer spring very strong and half-cock safety functioning as it should. Bore is very good with strong rifling, still bright, very minor wear and basically no pitting, no rings, about an 8.5 of ten which is great for this caliber and age of rifle. This one has it all - condition, rarity, overseas travel, and will letter! A great piece to add to your Winchester collection. No international sales. Ships free to US addresses via USPS Priority Mail. No FFL required, can ship to your door, need copy of driver's license for proof of residency and age (21 and over please). Payment via money order, bank check, personal check (held 5 days to clear) or discreet PayPal. 3 day inspection allowed. Buyer responsible for return shipping as long as the rifle has not been fired or taken apart. Thanks for looking and check my other listings for more great Winchesters!
