EXTREMELY RARE WINCHESTER 1873 15 INCH TRAPPER WITH A BUTTON MAG
Description:
44 WCF caliber. Also accompanying this gun is an equally scarce triangle bayonet including the cover. There were about 1,000 of these made I understand. Must have all went to Mexico. Only 3 or 4 of these are known to have survived. Complete with BATF clearance papers as well as a Cody Museum Factory Letter. Overall gun is in nice condition. Metal is mostly a plum/brown color. No pits and very nice markings on the barrel. The action is crisp and tight with a correctly functioning dust cover. Wood is better than what is usually found on a Trapper. It has the initial "H" on one side of the stock. Somewhat undersized. The bayonet and cover are in good condition. Also comes with a short barrel leather scabbard. Shows some wear but is nicely tooled and had to have been quite fancy when new. This is a scarce outfit. I have never encountered one of those before. The Factory Letter included was produced for an old time collector from Austin Texas named Taylor and is dated 1978.
