Description:
Here is an exceptionally nice restored/upgraded Winchester 1873, made in 1896 and chambered in the versatile 38-40 caliber. 24" octagon barrel with full length magazine tube. This gun had recently been restored/upgraded with rust blued barrel, magazine tube and crescent butt plate, and bone charcoal case colored frame, lever, hammer and forend cap. The stocks have been stripped and refinished with hand rubbed oil. Stocks are soild, tight and show no cracks. The action is clean, smooth as butter and locks up tight. Sliding dust cover works perfectly. Lettering is sharp and near perfect. The bore is very good with strong rifling and only shallow pinpricking as shown in the photo. This rifle has been test fired about 30 times and works flawlessly. In all, an unusually nice model 1873. Because this is classified as an antique, I can ship it directly to you on a copy of your driver's license showing that you are over 21. No FFL required, except if to California. Insured shipping to lower 48 is $60 by USPS priority mail. 3 day non-firing, non-disassembly inspection period. Feel free to ask any questions. I will let the hi def photos taken in natural light tell the rest of the story.
